Many people are becoming more concerned about the chemicals found in most health and beauty products. But is it really worth it make your own personal care items?
What are the risks?
It’s probably no surprise that there are lots of chemicals in most of the cleaning and personal care products in your home. Some of them are really dangerous. For example, studies show that the parabens found in almost every cosmetic and personal care product is also a factor in breast cancer. Many of the common ingredients in soap, shampoo, deodorant and lotions contain chemicals that may be harmful. (Google “Chemicals in shampoo that are harmful” to read a variety of articles and decide for yourself if it’s something to worry about.)

The good news is that you can eliminate those chemicals and save money by making many of your own products. And just like with house cleaning products, it costs just pennies to make your own personal care products.
