How many seed catalogs…
…have come to your front door? So far I’ve gotten 30 catalogs, with new ones coming in every week. I’ll probably still order from my favorites, but there are a couple new ones that have caught my eye. I think I may try a couple seed varieties from them.
In another six weeks it’ll be time to start your indoor seeds. Have you started planning for your garden? My booklet on seed starting will help you get started.
Free–yes free!–seed pots
If you want free seed-starting pots, now is the time to start making your newspaper pots. If the ones I link here don’t work for you, don’t worry. There are dozens of websites and YouTube videos, all with their own twist on how to make newspaper pots. Here’s one that uses Origami. It’ll make a good afternoon project to do with your kids.
When your plants are ready for transplanting, just dig a hole and plop them in. The pots disintegrate into the soil, so roots are never disturbed.
More to come
In the next couple weeks I’m going to share my favorite plant and plant varieties as well as seed starting tips and ideas. Starting with this one, where I give solutions to your gardening obstacles.

Isn’t this a cool idea? From one of my favorite FaceBook pages. Check them out.
