Coupon for free eggs
Easter is at the end of the month and in a couple weeks eggs will be on sale. With this coupon for 55¢ you can get four dozen eggs for free or almost free (you can print the coupon twice and most stores will double manufacturer’s coupons.) So now…what are you going to do with all those eggs?
Lots and lots of recipes
For starters, there’s the PHC recipe for March: Scotch Eggs This is a family favorite you’ll want to be sure to try.
With asparagus on sale (or maybe you’re lucky and have some fresh asparagus growing in your yard already), you can make the perfect Asparagus Eggs Benedict (which my family thinks is divine!)
One of our other favorites is Floating Islands. This is a simple but elegant dessert, poached merengue in a vanilla custard. Here’s the recipe and here’s a video demonstrating how to make it.
And of course, there’s always Deviled Eggs. Here are a dozen variations on the classic.
Everyone should try pickled eggs at least once. Here are three recipes for you to try.
Still need more? There’s always the Incredible Edible Egg website, which has hundreds of recipes and ideas for eggs.
And more…
And here is another fun thing you can do with eggs: egg molds.
Aren’t these just the cutest things for serving eggs to your little ones? Just put a hardboiled egg into the mold and let it sit for about 10 minutes and you have a fun-shaped egg. There are different sets you can get, all of them less than $5. And they aren’t
just for Easter, either. The fish and car shapes are fun for all year round.
Last but not least…
Be sure to get my booklet on Natural Dyes for Easter Eggs. It’s free and has lots of creative fun without all the chemicals.
So now, go! Buy lots of eggs while they’re on sale and enjoy your free eggs!
UPDATE 3-1-13: It appears that coupon is no longer available. As soon as I find a current coupon, I’ll update this post.
UPDATE 3-2-13: I found a new coupon for the eggs and it’s now linked. But hurry! Apparently there are a limited number of downloads, so I’m not sure how long this one will be good for. I’ll check it in a day or two to make sure it’s still working.
